This Cookie Policy explains how Cont.tech (“we”, “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies on conttech.co. It should be read with our Privacy Policy.

We designed this notice to meet the disclosure expectations of the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) under PECR and UK GDPR: what we use, why, who is involved, how long it lasts, and how you can control it.

run the storefront securely (cart, login, checkout, session)

understand how the site is used so we can improve it (only where allowed)

We do not sell personal data collected through cookies.

Types of cookies we use

1. Strictly necessary cookies

These are required for the website to work. Under PECR they can be used without consent when they are essential to provide a service you request (for example signing in or completing a purchase).

_secure_session_id / session — Keeps your browsing session secure. Shopify. Session.
cart / cart_sig / cart_ts — Remembers cart items and protects checkout. Shopify. Up to 14 days.
_shopify_y / _shopify_s — Storefront identity and session continuity. Shopify. Session to 1 year.
secure_customer_sig — Customer account login state. Shopify. Up to 1 year.
Cookie consent preference — Stores accept/decline for non-essential cookies. Cont.tech. Up to 1 year.

2. Preference cookies

These remember choices you make (for example language or cookie banner decisions) so the site behaves consistently on return visits.

3. Analytics cookies

These help us understand visits, popular pages, and technical issues. Where analytics are not strictly necessary, we only set them after you give consent through our cookie banner (where shown). Analytics may be provided by Shopify or other tools we enable in Admin.

If we enable Google Analytics or similar tools later, we will update this section and ask for consent before those cookies run.

4. Marketing cookies

We do not currently use advertising or remarketing cookies on conttech.co. If that changes, we will update this policy and obtain consent before setting them.

First-party and third-party cookies

First-party cookies are set by conttech.co. Third-party cookies are set by other domains (for example Shopify’s platform services). We cannot fully control third-party cookies; their providers process data under their own policies.

Where consent is required for non-essential cookies:

You can control cookies through our cookie banner (when shown) and your browser settings (block, delete, or alert on cookies).

If you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of the site (cart, login, checkout) may not work.

We may update this Cookie Policy when our technologies or legal requirements change. The “Last updated” date at the top shows the latest version.
